Project Overview
The Libya University Complex – Learning Resource Centre is an educational infrastructure project designed to serve as a central hub for learning, research, and academic collaboration within a major university campus in Libya. Developed to support the academic community, the facility integrates study areas, lecture spaces, digital resource centers, and administrative offices into a modern and efficient environment. The project’s early planning emphasized adaptability, technology integration, and user-centered design to meet the evolving needs of higher education. As a key part of the larger university complex, it required close coordination between design disciplines from the conceptual phase to ensure smooth progression into tender and construction stages.
Our Role
Our role in the Learning Resource Centre project was to provide BIM consultancy and modeling services at the early conceptual stage. This scope included:
- Developing a conceptual BIM model for initial design studies and presentations
- Refining the BIM model for use during the tender stage to assist with estimation and procurement
- Coordinating design elements to align with project requirements and academic facility standards
- Providing visualizations and progress presentations for the Minister of Health and other key stakeholders
- Ensuring the BIM model was suitable for both design development and contractor engagement
Through these services, we helped the project team optimize planning, improve cost estimation accuracy, and present a clear vision to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making from the earliest stages.
