TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCTURE (VENUES) PROJECT

China Global Delivery Center

Project Overview

With over 3,500 performances annually, this not-for-profit arts centre stands as one of the most dynamic and high-traffic cultural hubs globally. To support its ambitious programming and ensure seamless operations into the next 10 to 15 years, a major infrastructure upgrade was initiated—replacing aging 20-year-old systems with future-ready solutions. TECL collaborated closely with Theatreplan to deliver specialist systems design, tailored to meet the unique operational and acoustic needs of a world-class performance venue. Acting on these detailed designs, the appointed contractor was responsible for executing and installing the full systems package, ensuring precision and performance at every stage.

Our Role

Trusted Expertise

Under the Technical Infrastructure Project, key upgrades include the replacement of specialised lighting systems and audio-visual systems, managed by a dedicated contractor. During the venue closures, additional activities will be carried out by other teams, such as replacing the foyer wall laminate and auditorium wall fabric in both the Concert Hall and Theatre, along with maintenance of stage engineering automation systems. General responsibilities also include assisting TECL with the master schedule, site and safety monitoring, and BIM coordination. Minor architectural adjustments will be carried out in selected technical rooms, including vinyl flooring, wall finishes, ambient lighting improvements, and door relocation in the Recital Studio. Additional works include scaffolding setup, establishing a site office, and maintenance of the Concert Hall’s pipe organ.
